My name is Selena Chen, I come from China. And I had all my education from K to college in the schools of China. Cal Poly Pomona is the my first school abroad. I enjoy the campus life except the homework part. I get a big head when I have homework due.
I graduated from Wuhan University in China. My major was Computer Science. After graduating, I had been a software engineer for about 8 years. Computer technology is great, it has and will make enormous impact on our life. However, as a computer person, I was overwhelmed by the pressure of keeping on pace of the development of the technology. And also, I felt bored by dealing with computer all the day. So I changed my career.
Since I like kids very much, and also I have the background of computer software, Educational Multimedia seems a fairly good choice for me. I alway believe the implementation of computer technology in the area of Education will make learning more interesting and convenient. So my goal is that I am capable of designing and producing high quality educational modules after the program.

Hi Selena!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to Cal Poly Pomona! I hope you enjoy your time here! :)
Keeping up with all the changes in technology is definitely hard. It changes so rapidly that by the time you've mastered one skill, a new one has already taken it's place.
Have a great weekend!

Hi Selena!
ReplyDeleteI think it's great that you are not afraid of change. I too think there is a certain pressure to staying updated on development of technology. Though, I agree there is a different type of excitement when we use technology to help other people like kids.
